HUUM CORE Pro is a new series of electric sauna heaters developed by Estonian manufacturer HUUM for large private and public saunas. The new range was presented at the international Interbad 2026 exhibition in Stuttgart, where energy efficiency, technology and the development of the modern sauna industry were among the main topics. The series offers heaters with power outputs ranging from 12 to 21 kW, while combining two units makes it possible to achieve a total installed power of up to 42 kW. The manufacturer also highlights a design that allows access to the heating elements without removing the sauna stones.

Estonian company HUUM continues to develop electric sauna heater technology, expanding its product range with a new, more powerful series. CORE Pro is intended for saunas that require greater heating capacity and where convenient equipment maintenance is particularly important.

The new series was introduced at Interbad 2026, held from 6 to 8 October in Stuttgart, Germany. The exhibition brought together sauna, swimming pool and spa equipment manufacturers, architects, designers and industry professionals.

HUUM’s latest development is interesting not only because of its increased power. It also demonstrates how expectations for modern sauna heaters are changing. The ability to heat a room is no longer the only consideration – ease of maintenance, reliability and suitability for saunas of different sizes are becoming increasingly important.

HUUM CORE Pro is designed for larger sauna rooms

In a private sauna, an electric heater with relatively modest power is often sufficient. However, the situation is quite different in larger sauna facilities.

In public saunas, hotels and spa centres, heaters must maintain the required temperature in rooms with a greater volume. These facilities are also frequently used more intensively and for longer periods than private saunas.

The new HUUM CORE Pro series has been developed with this market segment in mind.

The manufacturer offers heaters with power outputs from 12 to 21 kW, expanding the possibilities for heating larger sauna rooms with a single electric heater.

However, one of the most interesting features of the new system is the possibility of using two heaters in a combined configuration.

Two heaters can provide up to 42 kW of power

One of the most significant technical capabilities of HUUM CORE Pro is the option to combine two heaters.

Using two 21 kW units makes it possible to achieve a total installed power of up to 42 kW.

Such a solution may be particularly valuable in large public saunas where the power of a single heater is insufficient.

However, high power alone does not guarantee a comfortable sauna microclimate.

The positioning of the heaters, room volume, thermal insulation, ventilation and efficient use of stored heat are also important.

Therefore, 42 kW should not be regarded as a universal solution suitable for every large sauna. Equipment selection must still be based on the technical characteristics of the specific room and the manufacturer’s instructions.

Heating element maintenance without removing sauna stones

One of the most practical features of the new series is its design, which provides easier access to the heating elements.

In traditional electric sauna heaters, heating elements are often positioned beneath or between the stones. If inspection or replacement is necessary, many heater models require a considerable quantity of stones to be removed first.

This takes time and physical effort.

HUUM CORE Pro has been designed so that the heating elements can be accessed without removing the sauna stones.

This approach may be particularly useful in public saunas, where technical maintenance needs to be organised with as little disruption to visitors as possible.

It does not mean that sauna stones no longer require regular inspection. Their condition must still be monitored, and the manufacturer’s maintenance instructions must be followed.

However, accessing the heating elements without removing the stones can significantly simplify certain maintenance and repair tasks.

Why is sauna heater maintenance becoming so important?

In a private sauna, the heater may operate for only a few hours each week, depending on the owner’s habits.

In a public sauna, the workload can be considerably greater.

A heater may operate for many hours every day while maintaining stable temperatures despite changes in the number of visitors.

This places greater demands on heating elements and other technical components.

If maintenance or repairs require the sauna to be closed for an extended period, this creates inconvenience for both visitors and facility operators.

Manufacturers are therefore paying increasing attention not only to the appearance and power of their heaters but also to how easily they can be inspected, serviced and repaired.

Estonian sauna technology is becoming more powerful

HUUM is one of Estonia’s sauna equipment manufacturers offering its products in international markets.

The company is known for electric sauna heaters that place particular emphasis on design and the arrangement of sauna stones.

In many HUUM models, the stones are a visible and important part of the heater’s structure rather than simply a small layer placed above the heating elements.

This approach creates a distinctive appearance and allows a substantial quantity of stones to be used, depending on the specific model.

With the CORE Pro series, the company continues expanding into a segment where high power and practical maintenance are just as important as aesthetics.

This development illustrates how Baltic sauna equipment manufacturers are increasingly offering solutions for the professional market.

Greater power does not automatically mean better energy efficiency

When discussing new electric sauna heaters, it is important to distinguish between two concepts – power and energy consumption.

Power, measured in kilowatts, describes the rate at which equipment uses electrical energy.

Actual electricity consumption depends on how long the heater operates, temperature regulation, heat losses from the room and other conditions.

For example, a 21 kW heater operating continuously at full power for one hour would consume 21 kWh of electricity.

Two such heaters operating at full power for one hour would consume 42 kWh.

In real operating conditions, consumption may differ because the temperature control system can regulate the heating cycle and the duration of operation.

When choosing a powerful sauna heater, the goal should therefore not be to select the highest possible output but to find equipment that is properly matched to the room.

Public saunas have different technical requirements

Private and public saunas may look similar, but their operating conditions can differ significantly.

In a private sauna, the owner decides when to heat the room, how long to use it and which temperature to maintain.

In a public sauna, the needs of multiple visitors, operating hours, safety requirements and equipment maintenance must all be considered.

The heater must be suitable for the expected workload, while its installation and controls must comply with the manufacturer’s requirements.

Correct electrical installation, ventilation and the necessary safety distances from surrounding structures are also essential.

The development of next-generation sauna heaters is therefore not simply a competition to achieve higher power outputs. It is also an effort to make professional sauna equipment more practical for long-term use.

Interbad 2026 highlights the direction of sauna industry development

The HUUM CORE Pro presentation took place at a time when the European sauna industry is increasingly discussing energy efficiency, sustainability and new technologies.

These were among the main themes of Interbad 2026.

Manufacturers need to offer equipment that meets modern requirements for both private and public saunas.

This means carefully considered construction, safe operation, convenient maintenance and suitability for the intended application.

HUUM’s new series is one example of how these requirements are influencing the development of sauna heaters.

What does HUUM CORE Pro mean for the Baltic sauna industry?

The Baltic countries have centuries-old sauna traditions, but the modern sauna equipment market is becoming increasingly international.

Local companies compete with manufacturers from Finland, Germany and other countries with long histories of producing sauna equipment.

New technologies developed by Baltic companies are therefore significant for the development of the region’s sauna industry.

HUUM CORE Pro demonstrates that Estonian manufacturers are not limiting themselves to small private saunas or design-focused products.

They are also addressing the needs of larger facilities, professional operation and easier technical maintenance.

At the same time, the presentation of a new product series does not, by itself, demonstrate long-term reliability. A more complete assessment will become possible after practical operation and the accumulation of user experience.

HUUM CORE Pro marks a new direction in sauna heater development

Modern sauna heaters are no longer evaluated solely by how quickly they can heat a room.

Thoughtful construction, maintenance accessibility, adaptability to different room sizes and suitability for prolonged operation are becoming increasingly important.

The new HUUM series follows this direction.

The ability to use heaters with outputs of up to 21 kW, combine two units for a total of 42 kW and access heating elements without removing stones represents practical technical development that may interest professional sauna operators.

The presentation of HUUM CORE Pro at Interbad 2026 demonstrates that Estonia’s sauna technology industry continues to develop and explore new solutions for larger saunas. However, the most important aspect of this innovation is not simply its 42 kW power capacity. It is the approach to sauna heater design itself – equipment must be not only powerful and visually attractive but also practical, safe and easy to maintain. These qualities may become increasingly important in both public and private saunas in the years ahead.
